It's All About the Kids. Remember?

USA Today reports today that both liberals and conservatives "are trying to find [state] ballot measures that will increase turnout among like-minded voters in the 2008 election," with a heavy emphasis on health care issues. So there we have it. It may be for The Children, but on the ground it's for wealth redistribution through popular majoritarian will. Is this a great country, or what? And when the economic sector represents something on the order of 15 percent of GDP, there's a lot of wealth to be redistributed and long-term damage to be done. So much for the kids.
